Sunset Hill Boutique Resort
The place is really clean and has great views and an amazing pool! The staff at the restaurant are just ok, but the food is great! Rent a motor bike and your close to everything!!Mindy E, USA - Agoda
Great view but single beds are not at all 4 stars worthy (the double bed is much better). Swimming pool great and view from there is awesome, breakfast a bit expensive and need prebook.Julien T, Switzerland - Agoda
The hotel is absolutely beautiful, the infinity pool is great with an excellent view, the food is also very nice. The rooms are clean and well maintained, and we had a lovely view from our balcony.Adam S - Tripadvisor
Big and clean rooms, beautiful pool and garden, nice restaurant but a bit expensive. Also a pool bar. Very nice. Shir A - Tripadvisor

Sunset Hill Boutique Resort
Sunset Hill Boutique Resort is perched on a hill overlooking Haad Chao Phao. It is a collection of apartments that are available to rent or buy. There are plenty of facilities for guests and the resort owner is heavily involved in 'transformation'. Combined yoga and accommodation packages are offered through the Sunset Hill website. The yoga instructors come from the nearby Agama Yoga.
It should be mentioned that it is a steep climb up to the apartments. Those with mobility issues should look elsewhere. Agama Yoga is 2km from Sunset Hill Apartments.
There are infact 12 different types of room to rent at Sunset Hill Boutique Resort despite the fact that in total there are 25 rooms available. This is because in some cases rooms are combined to create packages for 4 and 6 people.
The variety of accommodation often means that there is only 1 example of a certain room type. The accommodation is spread over 3 sites - Jasmin, Lotus and Rose buildings. All are low-rise buildings commanding great seaviews. The easiest way to get your head around the myriad room choices is to break it down by number of people accommodated. For most of the room types fully equipped kitchenettes are available on request. All rooms have air-con, hot water, flat screen TV and music system as well as free wifi.
2 people accommodation
4 people accommodation
6 people accommodation
Not all room types are available for booking through Booking.com. They cannot organise the extra fee for a kitchenette. Moreover, those wanting to buy a combined yoga and accommodation package will have to book directly through the Sunset Hill Boutique Resort website (www.sunsethillresort.com)
Sunset Hill Boutique Resort has an impressive seaview restaurant and cafe called 'Viewpoint Lounge'. There is a terrace as well as indoor seating. Guests can order breakfast, lunch and dinner. Unlike the typical Koh Phangan resort, Viewpoint Lounge has a small day and dinner menu. The restaurant also serves coffee, cocktails and wines. It appears at less busy times they order in food. At the bottom of the hill (10 minutes walk away) there is a restaurant.
To the side of the restaurant is a communal swimming pool with infinity lip and Jacuzzi section. Behind the pool are sunloungers. There is poolside service from the restaurant. During busy periods they open up the poolside bar.
The resort doesn't have a spa but Thai massages are available on request. Rooms include a mobile phone with credit to phone reception.
The Yoga Holiday Package consists of 6 hours of yoga per day 6 days a week, 28 nights in a luxury apartment and access to resort facilities. The yoga is provided by the nearby Agama Yoga and follows their 'first level yoga intensive' programme. Prices start at 20,500 Thai Baht for the yoga holiday package. Strangely enough, the package does not include electricity bills - these are charged at 8 Baht a kilowatt.
The owner, Marcel also runs his own workshop that he describes as "Live your passion and create the life you want". That is easy to say when you are a resort owner on a tropical Thai island! Anyway the course costs 195 Euros per person.
Motorbike hire is available. Cheaper monthly prices are available. All rooms feature hot water, air-con and have TV, safe and fridge.
If you have a child you might want to check whether they can stay for free in your room. One person complains on Tripadvisor of being charged 800 Thai Baht extra per night for their child. If no extra bedding is required you should be able to avoid this charge.
