Their cottages are clean and cheap and comfortable- just what I want. Staff looked out for our every need. They were happy to have us there.stockmktgenius, USA - Tripadvisor
Beach is lovely and not far from boat. The bungalow are basic but fine and clean. The pool is little but really handy for kids as the bungalow are facing the pool so we can keep a look. Amazing for kitesurfing. The beach is beautiful. The food is cooked from scratch and is v tasty. Marie B, UK - Tripadvisor
We booked a fan room but switched to a air con room because it was much nicer and cleaner. The bed wasn't very comfortable. But the room was good. It was a little over priced, but it was during the full moon so... The location is very quiet and nice. Michal L, Israel - Agoda

Pimmada Hut
Pimmada Hut is a budget resort at the southern end of Plaay Laem beach. The resort opened in 2013. Since then it has been catering for backpackers staying on Plaay Laem Beach. It is a small and friendly resort and a good budget option. There are good facilities and the location is ideal for the beach and for the local restaurants, shops and bars.
There is the option of three types of air-con bungalow: family bungalow (with sleeping room for 4 people), beachfront bungalow and pool view bungalow; and, two types of fan bungalow: backpacker deluxe and backpacker standard.
There are only a few of each type of bungalow so if you intend to not book in advance you might not get the bungalow type you want immediately.
The air-con bungalows come with attached bathroom with hot water. The backpacker deluxe has a fan and hot water shower whereas the backpacker standard has fan and cold water shower. All bungalows have a balcony at the front to sling a hammock. The room fee also includes free wifi in the room.
All the bungalows are made in typical Koh Phangan fashion on stilts with wooden walls and floor and corrugated metal roof. They are fairly well maintained but do not expect anything approaching 'luxury' at Pimmada Resort.
Pimmada Hut has both air-con and fan bungalows. All the bungalows have showers and free wifi. The cheaper backpacker bungalows have cold water showers, the rest have hot water.
At the front of the resort is a restaurant. It serves a variety of Thai and Western dishes. They use fresh ingredients and try to cook dishes from scratch. While not gourmet fare, it is good value and great for those meals you don't fancy plodding the beach or into town.
The restaurant also serves a range of alcoholic beverages and is capable of making a decent enough cocktail.
The restaurant is located on the beachfront. Some of the seating is directly on the beach. The view includes Ang Thong in the distance. It is a very nice spot to catch the sunset.
The other major facility at Pimmada Hut is a pool next to the restaurant. It is not a big pool, but big enough to swim a little and for kids to have fun. There are bungalows around the pool, ideal for those parents who want to key an eye on the kids in the pool while being around the bungalow.
The staff at Pimmada Hut are friendly. The place has a family atmosphere. They are happy to book tickets, arrange moped hire and give advice. For a small fee they can arrange a laundry service.
They also rent out stand up paddle boards for 250 Thai Baht an hour.
Infants and children up to 4 years old can stay for free with their parents if no extra bedding is used.
